Jul. 30th, 2008 08:08 pmOne of the benefits - or more accurately, the only benefit - of Ruby's too keen interest in Sam was that Dean didn't have to go far to stick his own nose in where it wasn't wanted.
Unfortunately for Dean and his rising blood pressure, a few exuberant knocks and bellows had revealed Ruby to be not at home. Knowing that his father was keeping almost as close an eye on Sam as Dean himself was, Dean was content to seat himself outside her hut and wait for her return. If he pulled out his gun to check the chamber while he waited, it was only maintenance, not a threat.
For now.
